Picnics

I think picnics are too under appreciated. A simple outing may be all you need to lift your day and create a sense of sanity once again in your sometimes troubled mind. So, when Adam got off work, that's just what we did. With only one car and nothing close by to walk to, Logan needed to run around and I needed room to breath, so off we went with a picnic to a beautiful park with open fields of grass and a large playground....it even had a fountain! Anywho, here are some pics from our afterwork outing...and how about a video-havn't done that for a while.:)

Adam and Logan checking out the Sea Gulls that were basically stalking us while we were eating.

A more appropriate shirt for Adam was never made.

We were just checking to see if there really was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Nope.

We finally got a family photo!!!!

So, I really dislike these swings because I feel like Logan could just slip or flip right out at any moment...notice how close I am the whole time. Anyway, I love how he is trying to pump himself along.

Summer Vacation

We've had a busy past few weeks and are getting back to the day to day, so I thought a post would be in order. We had a couple of weeks of traveling. They included a family reunion at Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina, a trip to Mackinaw Island with Adam's brother Pete and his family, the 4th of July and a drive to Naperville to visit with the folks. We enjoyed good food, great company and fun times. So, get ready for a whole lot of pics from our adventures!

That's the sunrise at IOB and my uncle looking for shells in the sand.
The cousins all went out for dinner at a place similiar to Beni Hanas and here are all the siblings with their spouses.

Sam and Logan had matching outfits! Here's the shrimp boat Adam and Sam kayaked behind and saw about eight dolphins swimming and jumping all around.
Sparklers on our back padio on the 4th of July. Party Animals!

The Mackinaw Bridge is five miles long and over a Great Lake. It's absolutely beautiful. Logan decided to pull out all the tissues before we could stop him, and he was having so much fun, we stuffed them back in so he could do it again.

Here's Pete, Tori, Jayda, Kyson and Tayri on the ferry ride over and these three bachelors, Sargent, Major and Travis, were our tour guides around the island!

My Shiny New Toy

We got Logan this barn because he realy likes containers. He drags it around with him all over the place and just loves it. So, I had to get a video of him with it. Don't you love how he shows it off at the end?

We made it!

We are in our apartment in Marquette and getting our home in order. We got internet yesterday, so I thought I would update you all on our travels. We stayed with my folks in Chicago for about a week and then came to Marquette and lived in a hotel for about a week before we recieved our household goods. Logan had his first birthday at the hotel in Marquette and we went swimming in the pool and had a birthday cake, which he loved to play with, but didn't eat a bite. So, we are getting used to the MANY differences between Marquette and any other place we have lived so far. Here are just a few of the pics and videos from our move.

Logan's first time swimming

Logan continues to amaze us with his many talents. We had never seen him do this before because we always keep the bathroom doors shut in our house.

Notice the shirt? "What happens at Grandma's stays at Grandma's." So true.

Ah, the wonderful sound of laughter!

Every once and a while Adam can get Logan to laugh REALLY hard, but we've never been able to get it on camera.....until now! We happened to have it handy and filmed this.

A Few of My Favorite Things

There are a few things that Logan does that I just love. One of them is clapping-he does it all the time and his face just lights up when he does. Also, he turns off the light when you ask him to. What an obediant boy! It's pretty funny because he will point out his little index finger only and push down as hard as he can until it turns off. Ah, aren't kids cute?

Visitors in Gillette

This past week we had Grandma and Grandpa Butler and Aunt Suzannah come to visit us in Gillette. We were so glad to have them here. We were able to see a few of Wyoming's spectacular sights like Devil's Tower and a few in Gillette as well.....the Rockpile Museum! It was better than it sounds. We've loved this quarky little town and will miss the experience and people we've gotten to know. It was fun to visit with the Butler's and play games and go to the park. We were lucky to have nice weather most of the time they were here. Anywho, we miss them now, but will see them again soon. We will be moving to Marquette in the middle of May and we are excited to be closer to family. Here are a few pics from this past week.

When we went to the gift shop before we went to Devil's Tower, we noticed that there were lots of Prairie dog stuffed animals, post cards and all sorts of things. We wondered why until we drove onward and found that on both sides of the road were fields covered with prarie dogs. Cute, huh?

Gma and Gpa bought Logan a coonskin hat at the Devil's Tower gift shop. We've got our very own Daniel Boone.

So, I know these three pictures look very similiar, but the first time I said three, Logan hit mom in the face, the second time he sneezed and the third was the closest we could get to a smile!
